Addiction is self sabotaging behaviour. Shaming people with addictive behaviours does not help. Encourage them to get professional help and get help for yourself. Addiction can manifest itself in so many behaviours – work, substance abuse, gambling, exercising, drinking alcohol, eating, self-harm…
