Tis the end of the school term and your adolescent has had a change of season/academic and psychobiological challenges to endure. As a parent/carer, acknowledge all achievements. Support where necessary. Remember, your adolescent is finding his/her voice. There will be adult/child ego challenges. You cannot expect your child to be unassertive at home yet be assertive outside the home. Parenting sometimes means gracefully conceding an argument with your adolescent. Remember to set healthy boundaries. Enjoy spending time with your child over the coming holidays. It will all be alright in the end.
